Wednesday 11 Oct- English 9 SWS

    1. Freewrite about a time in your life when you felt betrayed.

    2. Read your scenarios silently and complete Part I of the Scenarios Guide without talking!

    3. Now, as a small group, discuss and complete Part II of the Scenarios Guide.

    4. Discuss your thinking (whole group)

    5. Revisit your freewrite and add at least three inventions that could have prevented the betrayal in each scenario.

The next thing we are reading has a universal theme about betrayal. Write down this definition. We will use it again soon.

Universal Theme- —An idea or author’s opinion that has relevance and meaning to all cultures, places, generations, etc. In other words, a theme that can relate to:
1.ANYONE at
2.ANYTIME living
3.ANYWHERE

Hindu Poetry- Complete the assignment in Classroom.

We learned a ton of vocabulary for this section on Hinduism. Go to Vocabulary.com to practice with these words.

Please note! There are a few words that are not on here. You will need to learn those on your own. Also, a few of the definitions are a tiny bit different from the ones we wrote. No big. You can figure it out.

First- I updated Skyward. This actually means nothing to you. Use it as a way to see how you are doing on each standard. IGNORE the average. Grades are not finalized until January 26.

Next- When Mr. Brue and I finish grading the Farming Papers, we will talk about revisions on those.

Friday #6 is posted. It is a creative topic and will be graded for PL#5.

Today we are finishing up with the Hindu vocabulary and poetry.

Grounding question- Write about a time when you felt like you were doing something well. It doesn’t have to be a huge thing. Just a time when you felt good about what you were doing.

Text- page 56. Here we find out what Pooh really means when he says “Cottleston Pie”.
