Compare parallel scenes (ch 1 and ch 9). Understand why authors make plot decisions. What was similar about these scenes? Why would the author write two similar scenes? How might chapter 9 impact the rest of the book? What other scenes might be similar, though maybe not as similar as ch 1 and ch 9?
