For those of us who are struggling to write great stories, especially the endings, check out Everyday Fiction. There are hundreds of stories posted about all kinds of topics. Even more interesting are the comments. People are giving very constructive feedback on the writing and there might be something there to help if you’re struggling with a piece of your own fiction writing.

Today I read the story HIJABI BARISTA • by Regina Higgins. The feedback about how the author ended the story was excellent.

English 9 SWS- Read! And write!

This week our goal is to finish these books. Each day will be similarly structured with reading time, discussion time, and writing time. This week’s Friday writing is also based on your book.

Today’s dress-up theme is SNOW DAY!

We are doing a timed writing today. The topic is on your tables. Use your annotated text from last week and complete this writing on paper. Please do NOT put your name on the paper. I will assign you a random number for identification purposes. 

As of 6pm on Sunday, 32 students had not turned in a rough draft.

I noticed some things while reviewing your rough drafts. Here are the top 5 things that you need to check and correct.

1. Citation format

2. Title format

3. Paragraph indenting vs block quotes

4. NO parenthesis except for citations

5. Alternate cited facts and your commentary
